1976 Kenneth Cole designed his first shoe, the Earthpadrille, at his father's El Greco factory in Brooklyn, N.Y. The first succcess for Cole came in 1982 when he parked a trailer outside the FFANY show in Manhattan, and sold over 40,000 pairs of shoes in two and a half days; Kenneth Cole Productions had it real start with this sale. In 1984 Kenneth Cole Producitons debuted men's footwear. The First Kenneth Cole store opened on New York's Columbus Avenue.
